Start the day with a leisurely breakfast over looking the Lake,

Time you stretch your legs? Request a picnic from our kitchen to take with you and explore the breath taking High dam just a short walk to the village of Finsthwaite where you can amble around the dam and pick a perfect spot to indulge in our chefs creations.

Now comes the moment you’ve been waiting all day for…putting your feet up in our spa garden with a glass of bubbly, sounds good doesn’t it?

Exploring the Hills

Get your walking boots at the ready, take a breakfast to go and get an early start. There are so many trails to explore 1926 miles to be exact, you can walk and cycle around our countryside to your heart’s content.

A personal favourite of ours is the walk to the peak of Gummers How, the beautiful fell you’ll have awoke to across the lake, just a short 5 minute drive around the southern shore of the Lake and you will be ready to start your walk, the walk is approximately 1.5 miles and the views are simply breathtaking….don’t forget to take a snap of the hotel and tag us in it!

Time for a spot of lunch? a short drive from Gummers How is the small pub The Masons Arms, we’d  recommend grabbing a bite to eat to refuel before making your way back to us for a relaxing evening watching the world go by.

Feeling Adventurous

Start the day right with a full breakfast here at the hotel, before you go on the adventure of a lifetime…

We suggest for those wanting to really get out there on an adventure to visit Honister pass, here you can see the Honister mines first hand by taking a underground tour or try out Via Ferrata (be warned not for the faint hearted!) this is an adventure following the original Miners route to the top of the Mountain. You will follow the historic miners path high onto Fleetwith Pike in a thrilling stunning and safe outdoors activity.  It’s an adrenaline rush with an essence of natural beauty.  Not just for climbers and walkers but young families looking to create lifelong memories.

After all this you’ll be ready for to relax and refuel and what better way to do so than in our Lakeview pool, let the jacuzzi bubbles loosen up those muscles, before dining on something delectable. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a dessert, it will be well earned after your day out!

Family Time

Family time, is there anything better? We certainly don’t think so and it’s safe to say the options are endless no matter age or ability in the Lakes.

Of course as with any other day you start with the best breakfast around here at the hotel, time to feed the ducks? ask one of our wonderful team for some duck food so they are set up for the day like you are.

Ready to go? perfect we’d suggest heading to the north of the Lake to Brockhole on Windermere, there is a huge selection of activities for all ages and the best playground around to let those with little legs burn off some steam.There activities range from kayak and paddle board hire to mini golf, tree top trekking and nets and adventures in the Caves. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.

Brockhole is also the perfect picnic location so don’t forget to take a bite to eat from our fantastic Kitchen here at the hotel.

Time to splash? Our fantastic 17 m pool is the perfect place to build those appetites up before joining us for dinner, we have a brilliant selection of children’s meals and the perfect desserts such as brownies and milk to finish the perfect family day out.

Food glorious food

Oh how we love food here at Lakeside, we are every foodies dream and more, it simply never stops, and why should it in our opinion? So begs the question what and where would be choose to dine, with most of our fantastic guests staying two or more nights the options are marvellous as this gives you chance to explore the culinary delights in and out of the hotel.

Just arrived? We know the perfect way to kick of your trip to the Lake District, our scrumptious afternoon tea over looking the breath taking Lake Windermere, sweet, savoury, vegan no problem we’ve got you covered and we promise it isn’t something to miss out on.

Celebrating something special…book a table at Simon Rogans iconic riverside restaurant in the local village of Cartmel, the two Michelin star fine dining restaurant L’Enclume was voted the number one restaurant in the UK by The Good Food Guide 2020.

Breakfast time, more food you’re thinking?  Yes we said it really doesn’t stop, our fantastic choice of dishes will set up well for the day ahead, maybe too well? No surely not there is no such thing, treat yourself to a proper breakfast with starters and main choices and our fantastic choice of buffet options.

Time to venture out for for some lunch, we’d recommend the Drunken Duck, they offer delectable pub grub that is definitely worth the trip out for!

Dinner  – if you have any room left we may add, we suggest reserving your dinner table a little later in the evening if you’ve indulged whole heartedly into our afternoon treats. Our fantastic seasonal dishes are a breath of fresh air with local, fresh and wholesome ingredients gracing our menus. And our desserts we only have one word WOW they really are something special.

And with one last hurrah finish your time here with another glorious breakfast.
