When moving around the hotel masks must be worn in line with government guidelines. When seated you can remove your mask if preferred. All food and drinks will be served to you by our waiting-on staff.

Do I need to book a time to use the pool
We ensure the number of guests in the pool and spa area do not exceed government guidelines. We aim to do this naturally without the need to book a ‘slot’ we do, however request guests use their rooms to shower and prepare and come to the pool ‘beach-ready’ (robes are provided in your rooms)

Days out without the car

  • Cruise on the Lake

Jump on a steamer and sail down up the lake from the Lakeside jetty.

  • Take a guided tour

Mountain Goat offer a range of tours covering the most popular hot spots. Their drivers will collect you from our door and drop you ‘home’ after your day’s adventure.

  • Full steam ahead

Step back in time and enjoy a leisurely ride out on a traditional steam train. The short journey to Haverthwaite railway station can be followed by a walk along to the Lakeland Motor Museum where you can admire a unique collection of classic cars, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles. Enjoy some refreshment in Café Ambio before your return journey.

  • Shank's pony

Take a stroll in the fresh air and enjoy the woodlands across the way from the hotel. Great Knott Wood has been developed by the Woodland Trust and has a tiny network of trails to follow and enjoy the wildlife. If venturing further afield, why not take one of Chef’s afternoon tea hampers with you to enjoy on your travels.
